Scholarships

November 2009 - Basileus Loyd Bryant (left) presented Rozan Latham with a $500 scholarship. Rozan is a graduate of Deer Valley High School, and is the winner of the 2009 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Essay contest. Rozan wrote on the topic: "How Has President Obama Influenced Your Career Goals and Aspirations" Rozan has received acceptance to Harvard and Xavier Universities. She in the winner of Miss Black Teen Arizona, and will be departing next week to join the Tuskegee Airmen to view the space shuttle.

August 2009 - Basileus Andrew Davis presented Cherelle Brown with a $500 scholarship. Cherelle is a graduate of South Mountain High School, and is the winner of the 2009 Phi Iota Essay contest. Cherelle wrote on the topic: "Affirmative Action: The Case For (or against)." Cherelle will be attending Arizona State University in September 2009.

November 2008 - Brother Shane Stuckey (left) and Basileus Andrew Davis (right) presented Renee Latham with a $500 scholarship. Renee is a graduate of Deer Valley High School, and is the winner of the 2008 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Essay contest. Renee wrote on the topic: "Is race a Relevant Consideration in Leading the United States of America?" Renee is presently attending the Citidel.

August 2008 - Basilues Andrew Davis presented Marcus Jamison with a $500 scholorship. Marcus is a graduate of Chaparral High School. This scholarship was based upon extra-curricular activities. Marcus is presently attending Harvard University.

November 2007 - Brother Paul Hodson presented Britne Hart with a $500 scholorship. Britne is a graduate of South Mountain High School, and is the winner of the 2009 Omega Psi Phi National Essay contest. Britne wrote on the topic: "How can we as individuals make a difference in the lives of Blck people?" Britne is presently a pre-med student at Spleman College.

June 2007 - Brother Larry Ross (left) and Immediate Past Basileus Melvin Jones (right) presented Abdul Lateef with a $1,000 scholorship. Abdul is a graduate of South Point High School. This scholarship was based upon academics. Abdul is presently attending Morehouse College.

March 2007 - Immediate Past Basileus Melvin Jones (right) presented Tiffany Lamar with a $500 scholorship. Tiffany is a graduate of South Mountain High School. This scholarship was based upon academics.
